Your pup can easily overheat in the sweltering heat outside, so some cool summery treats can be super helpful, plus lots of cool water access, indoor air-conditioned playtime breaks, and maybe even a fun splash in a kiddy pool (you and your pup can get involved in this one together).

Things to Know Before Feeding
- What are your pup’s sensitivities? Does your dog have any food allergies?
- Always feed treats in moderation and under careful supervision.
- Always consult your professional veterinarian first before feeding your dog anything new!
- Always keep a bowl of fresh, clean water nearby for your pup at all times.
1. Frozen Peanut Butter Tarts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of strawberries
- ¼ cup of water
- A spoonful of xylitol-free peanut butter
Steps:
- Wash the strawberries, slice the top ends, and blend the sliced strawberries with ¼ cup of water until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the puree into an ice cube tray and fill each slot about ¾.
- Grab a teaspoon and top off each slot with peanut butter.
- Freeze the tray in your freezer.
- Feed your hungry pup!
2. Frozen Minty Refreshers
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of plain yogurt
- A handful of fresh parsley leaves
- A handful of fresh mint leaves
- A splash of water (optional)
Steps:
- Scoop the yogurt into a blender and mix in parsley and mint leaves. Optional: Add a dash of water to make the mixture thinner (to your liking).
- Fill an ice cube tray all the way with the mixture.
- Place in the freezer until solid.
- Feed your hungry pup!
3. Sweet Coconut Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of organic coconut oil
- A handful of blueberries (optional)
- A teaspoon of honey (optional)
Steps:
- Add some coconut oil to a bowl and place over a pan of boiled water to soften the oil. Once softened, shape the semi-soft oil into balls.
- Put each ball on a tray, and place the tray into your freezer until all the coconut oil balls are hardened.
- Optional: Add some honey and/or a few blueberries into the coconut balls to give your dog’s treat a little extra sweetness.
- Feed your hungry pup!
4. Fruity Punch Puptail
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup watermelon
- 1/4 cup pineapple
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- 2 strawberries
- 1/4 cup cold water (adjust according to your preference)
Steps:
- Add your fruit and water to a blender and blitz until the fruit is completely crushed.
- Serve in a bowl or a wide-mouthed cup.
- Feed your hungry pup!
5. Cantaloupe Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen, diced cantaloupe
- 2 tbsp plain yogurt
Steps:
- Clean, dice and freeze some cantaloupe.
- After freezing, plop your frozen cantaloupe into a blender with yogurt and blend the mixture until it’s smooth.
- Optional: Top with some of your dogs’ kibble or a fave snack, like blueberries!
- Feed your hungry pup!
6. Frozen Kong with Cottage Cheese & Honey
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of cottage cheese
- 1 cup of peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- 1 teaspoon of honey
Steps:
- Grab a mixing bowl, and blend all the ingredients together.
- Grab a spoon and your dog’s Kong, and stuff the Kong with the blended mixture.
- Place the Kong with the mixture inside into your freezer and wait about 30 minutes to an hour before serving. The mixture should be frozen.
- Feed your hungry pup!
